"Future Industry" is an exhibition promoted by the School of Innovation Design of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in collaboration with Boxes Art Museum, showcasing the outstanding graduation designs of the students graduated in 2023. Confront with the challenges and industrial demands brought by wide application of intelligent technology and the new technological revolution, the creators are not only conveying their personal experiences and concepts, but also trying to enter into various fields of design as reflective practitioners. With the mission of continuously improving and enhancing the experience and feeling of the products and the goal of deeply exploring the intrinsic connection between art and technology, in order to reconsider the way of life and to support the positive social and environmental changes. Design-driven innovative thinking is increasingly involved in a wide range of issues ranging from new industries, business models and modes to sustainable social transformation.
The exhibition is "energised" by design, embodying the concept of human-oriented design from the perspective of user needs, and presenting the creators' thinking and innovation in discovering, defining and solving problems. The concept of "human" runs through the exhibition space and becomes the core driving force of design. Design is still concerned with the human being as a subject and the relationship between human beings and society. The design of the future is not only about updating the aesthetics of products, but also about the humanistic concern and social responsibility of the creators. Future design is no longer about expanding demand, but about how to deal with people and intelligent technology, social relations, and environmental ecology. In this perspective, it is the interaction between creators' intentions and users' needs and feelings that generates the discussion about the meaning and importance of design.
