Wang Ruihan：Inside You

Works of artists are like programs edited by nature, they have been planted inside us, and only those who are enough perceptual can perceive and sense and explore. .

We can regard Wang Ruihan's practice and exploration in color-field, light, color block or pigments on canvas as one of the embodiments of abstract painting in De stijl. A century ago, when Theo Van Doesburg created De stijl in Netherland, then its trend swept from the Weimar Bauhaus to Europe continent and to the whole age of modernism. Since then, we began to see painting as a form of openness and full of possibilities.

Wang Ruihan's recent practice is to break through and extend the closed form and space on the basis of his painting practice— his works are the combination of painting and the construction of space, which deconstructs our understanding of the original closed space. The light and the color field of his works are the visual perception of the external world by himself, and the rich changes of them in shapes and spaces are the expressions of his subtle feelings about the surrounding space.

Whether they are paintings of paintings or constructions of paintings they all seem precise and rational, but at the same time, they are also the perceptual emotions toward the world from him. Because of his deep knowledge of the materials, Wang Ruihan's art works possess a very accurate grasp of subtlety and delicateness about color changes and surrounding atmosphere. From his two-dimensional art practice to his quite new three-dimensional explorations, the viewers are beset in a completely new perception.

Wang Ruihan's practice in art is introspective. It is the best way for him to find his own inner self.
